"Home of the Legoland!" Johor Bahru is the capital of Johor state, at the southern end of Peninsular Malaysia. Commonly referred to as JB, it is one of the largest cities in Malaysia with almost 2.6 million residents. Also, it is located just across the causeway to Singapore. Most travellers skip visiting Johor Bahru, but this city houses some worthwile museums, mosques, temples and shopping places. The most puplar tourist attraction here is the Legoloand! Granted city status in 1994, Johor Bahru today is a mixed pot of ethnicities namely Malays, Chinese, and Indians. Entertainment here adorns a number of forms. Johor Bahru houses a number of well-known and well-established malls including Komtar JBCC, KSL City, and Johor Bahru City Square. The very well-known Mawar Handicrafts Centre is a government-funded exhibition and sales centre, which sells beautiful Batik and Songket clothes. 

Cultural attractions in Johor Bahru include Royal Abu Bakar Museum, Johor Bahru Kwong Siew Heritage, Johor Bahru Chinese Heritage Museum, and Johor Art Gallery. Historical attractions of Johor Bahru include the Grand Palace, Figure Museum, and Sultan Ibrahim Building. These buildings provide an excellent example of Victorian-style architecture.  The Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Hindu Temple is the first and the only glass temple in the nation.

Johor Bahru in its own little ways oozes its rich history, architecture, culture and reflects the fast-growing economy that it is.
